Data Governance Analyst - HCA Healthcare (Client)
Location: Nashville, TN / Orlando, FL / Austin, TX (Onsite, no remote)
Duration: 12 months
Major Responsibilities:
Governance Operations & Process Execution:
- Lead the implementation of enterprise data governance frameworks, ensuring alignment with data strategy, regulatory requirements, and business goals.
- Provide guidance on best practices for governing data across domains and lines of business.
- Coordinates manage, and document governance-related work sessions and stakeholder engagements.
- Lead the execution of key data governance processes across business domains
- Develop and maintain artifacts and documents related to data governance.
- Define and implement data quality (DQ) rules; assist in the QA of rule execution, results analysis, and reporting
- Monitor, track, and communicate progress against governance deliverables and milestones
- Oversee ongoing compliance with data quality and governance standards across domains
- Develop and document methodology for implementing data governance programs/projects across the enterprise. Coordinate with and support data stewards responsible to ensure Data Governance best practices and expectations are being implemented and met.
- Support metadata curation and cataloging to enhance data discoverability and usability
- Review, develop, and edit policies in support of Data Governance principles. Develop processes to hold others’ accountable to the Data Governance policies and create a means to determine and track compliance on an on-going basis.
Data Catalog & Metadata Management:
- Maintain the enterprise data catalog by ensuring data assets are properly documented, classified, and maintained.
- Work with subject matter experts to write articles for the Data Glossary.
- Support enhancements to catalog usability and adoption by gathering stakeholder feedback and implementing improvements.
- Assist in the development of catalog training materials, user guides, and best practices documentation.
- Track adoption of the data catalogue and implement processes and engagement tactics to improve utilization.
Self-Service Enablement & Data Literacy:
- Promote and support self-service data access and analytics capabilities across the organization.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops to improve data literacy and promote the use of governance tools.
- Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to ensure data access issues are resolved and user needs are met.
Tooling Support & Adoption:
- Support the evaluation, implementation, and integration of metadata management and governance tools with enterprise data platforms.
- Provide operational support for governance tools, including issue resolution, user onboarding, and documentation updates.
- Help track tool adoption and provide feedback to enhance user experience and effectiveness.
- Research, analyze, and provide recommendations of tools to support data governance needs.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with data stewards, data owners, business analysts, and IT teams to ensure governance activities align with enterprise goals.
- Communicate governance objectives, priorities, and status updates to stakeholders in a clear and transparent manner.
- Support the Sr. Director, Data Enablement & Governance in executing governance strategies and initiatives.
- Serve as liaison for data governance efforts to align with other enterprise information management components, (master data, data quality, metadata management, etc.) across the organization. Build and maintain relationships with a wide variety of internal organizations (business owners, practices, departments) to understand current and future information and data needs and strategy.
- Track data governance action items, issues, and priorities to ensure standards and priorities for data integrity, consolidation, consistency and metadata development are met.
- Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:
•Bachelor's degree Information Systems, Business Administration, or Similar
•Master's degree Information Systems, Business Administration, or Similar
•5+ years of experience in a combination of data management and data governance roles
•3+ years of experience in implementing data governance in a business environment
Or equivalent combination of education and/or experienc
Licenses, Certifications, & Training:
•Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
